About the Trek
The Barsey or Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary spans approximately 104 square kilometres within the Singalila range in West Sikkim. Known as the valley of Rhododendrons, Varsey boasts an array of these beautiful flowers in various shades and shapes. Access to the sanctuary is available through three different gates located in Hilley, Dentam, and Soreng. The Hilley gate is the most popular entry point, as the trek from here is only 4-5 kilometres and takes approximately two hours one way. The well-marked forest trail can be easily navigated without the need for a guide. For those seeking a longer adventure, a multi-day trek within the sanctuary is possible, but it requires a knowledgeable guide and camping equipment. The trek to Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary covers a distance of around 4 kilometres with a relatively gentle incline. A one-way journey typically takes about 2 hours, depending on individual walking abilities. Rest assured, this trek is considered one of the easiest on Earth and is often referred to as the Honeymoon Trek.

- Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, chocolates, snacks, mineral water, and battery recharges are not included in the package.
- Costs incurred due to unexpected occurrences such as cancellations, weather problems, damages to property, or illness are not covered.
- Any additional accommodation and meals outside of the planned itinerary will be at your own expense.
- It is essential to have travel, medical, and other necessary insurance coverage for the duration of the trek.
- Personal gear and expenses for the trek are not provided and should be arranged by the participant.
- Accommodations in Darjeeling before and after the trek are not included in the package.
- If you require an extra porter or horse to carry your backpack, this service is available at an additional cost.
